So it works pretty much as I expected. Doesn't look like you can deploy frameworks like Struts on there right now; I didn't think you would be able to so kept my apps pretty vanilla - should be easy to move onto App Engine.
I have signed up for the Technology Preview, so will see if I get accepted - soon as I am on I will move my apps up there and maybe publish the Android client I have developed.
